Why Accessories Are Important

The male wardrobe is consistently evolving. Wool suits during winter, linen during summer and possibly cotton in the spring. There is a consistent variety of staple suits, shirts, shoes and bottoms that lend themselves to an outfit. However, sometimes one part of men’s fashion that is overlooked- accessories. Some see accessories as merely the end game to the overall purchase. But is that so? For the remainder of this topic we are going to narrow our focus specifically to the bow tie.

Bow ties are understated accents to business, casual, formal or semi-formal fits. Bow ties are often overlooked possibly because of their “nerdy” stigma. However, bow ties and their style are more than just a “look” they have become part of the men’s style vocabulary. In the past decade it seems as though they are have become the new standard of “cool” rather than the standard of “nerd” and its a welcome change. The importance of a smart bow tie, is that they complete your overall aesthetic.

When we look at the choice of a bow tie for a shirt, to accent a suit, the elements are talking to each other, and the passerby who happens to see you, takes notice.

Moreover, a well dressed male, has paid attention to every detail from the crease of their pant, the hem and their bow tie selection. It can be compared to a building, from a distant we see the overall structure, but as we get closer, its the details, colors, hidden patterns that really draws the eyes and aids the mind to come to a decisive conclusion: that this was well constructed.

Looking at the vision year, it’s safe to say, that rapid evolution is occuring under our noses. Men’s wardrobes, should do the same. Suits invariably, will carry the ranging hues of blacks, shades of blue, etc. But if you let a good bow tie amplify your already impeccable style, then you understand the importance of not just only the power of an accessory, but the statement it makes about you.
